Dr. David Neely joins Florida Retina Specialists
Dr. Frank Venzara of Florida Retina Specialists announced that Dr. David Neely has joined the practice and will begin seeing patients August 6.
Dr. Neely received his medical degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Medicine, followed by an Internship in General Surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
He moved on to Ophthalmology Residency at Callahan Eye Hospital at UAB where he served as chief resident and furthered his specialty training with a Fellowship in Vitreoretinal Surgery at Retina Consultants of Alabama and UAB.
Dr. Neely has co-published many Ophthalmology Research papers and abstracts during his training at UAB as well as participating in resident education to train the next generation of eye surgeons.
He has spent extensive time serving in medical missions in third-world countries in the Caribbean and Central America and continues to visit Nicaragua several times per year performing eye surgeries free of service at the National Center of Ophthalmology in Managua, Nicaragua.
An active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and American Society of Retina Specialists, Dr. Neely is fluent in English and conversational Spanish.
